Projects on BaBar

L3 algorithms

Working on algorithms for performing fast tracking for the purpose of a Level 3 filter.

Talk presented at the BaBar colaboration meeting on February 19:th 1997. The idea and a short outline of the algorithm together with some preliminary results were shown. Also available with 4 slides per page.

Event Generator

Documentation and other information about using the EvtGen package in the BaBar framework is available here .

This project was originated as an attempt to generate semileptonic decays of B-mesons to P-wave charm mesons with the correct angular distributions of the decay of the charm meson. The project grew with the implementation of the ISGW2 model for semileptonic decay.

The first goal of this project is to provide a generator of semileptonic decays of B-mesons for physics studies in BaBar. However, the generator has convenient tools for generating other decays as well and in the area of CP violation the decays of B->pi pi and B->Psi K* has been implemented.

Paul Harrison will present a status report of the physics analysis work in BaBar on Jan 22 1997 and I contributed a few transparencies for his talk.

Current status of EvtGen for genertaion of CP distributions as of Jan 28 1997.

Talk presented at the BaBar colaboration meeting on February 18:th 1997. An overview of the topics covered by the generator was given at this mini plenary. Also available with 4 slides per page.

A few slides prepared for the May 27 1997 simulation review, they outline the plan and the status of the EvtGen project.

A few slides presented at the BaBar physics workshop at Caltech September 23:rd 1997.

A few slides presented at the BaBar collaboration meeting Nov 18 1997.

CLEO Projects at UCSB

Billoir fitter

I've been working on a project together with Robert Kutschke on an implementation of a Kalman filter for the CLEO experiment. A write-up of this work is in progress. Other useful information about the conventions that has been used is in another document by Robert Kutschke.
