I am an experimental high energy physics graduate student at Caltech. My advisor is Prof. Frank Porter. I am working on the BaBar experiment, located at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), as a member of the Caltech group.
If you are not a particle physicist, take a look at http://particleadventure.org/ to learn what high energy particle physics is about. For a lighter version, see http://quarkdance.org/ (not suitable for children over 12).
Projects
-
The search for the decay modes B -> K
ll and B -> K* ll at BaBar
We have published a result, based on the BaBar run 1 data set, in Physical Review Letters, volume 88, 2002 [ PDF, PS ]. We have submitted a more recent result, based on a larger data set, to the ICHEP 2002 conference [ PDF, PS ]. BaBar collaborators can access some internal information here.
