Ludlam Present at Gran Sasso-- G. Ludlam US Physicist-In-Charge-- G. Ludlam King O' MACRO-- G. Ludlam Soon To Be Married-- G. Ludlam Tired Of Walking to Assergi in the Dark-- G. Ludlam Absent-- Everyone (except G. Ludlam) to Torino. Run Status: Thanks to the heroic efforts of G. Ludlam (Physicist in Charge), the run went smoothly during the long and lonely days of the Collaboration Meeting. These heroic efforts consisted primarily of not messing around with the run. When he did, the results were less than pleasing. ... WFD stuff-- As reported before, the waveforms on MV1 are sick. There is hope, however, for the dreaded SIX MONTH RUN. VAST ARMIES of competent physicists should descend upon the Gran Sasso shortly after Physicist-In-Charge hangs up his hat to once again don the guise of Boston University Physics Department Resident Pro-Wrestling Expert. One hopes that at least one of those fine physicists can make MACRO worthy of its 'M'. In other WFD news, ERP waveforms-- Are They Here, Or Not? Responding to requests from all over the globe, Monopole Men Erik K. and G. Ludlam (Future Physicist-In-Charge) installed the appropriate cables such that ERP triggers (in the absence of a TOHM trigger) will generate a WFD stop. This will exist under the new equipment number 47. A question of timing consistency remains, but that should be resolved soon. ... Conclusionary stuff-- It appears that the detector is quite near to being operational for the six month run. There are a few nagging problems (which I am sure the next Physicist-In- Charge will have no trouble solving), but the equipment and electronics are there, and most of it is working beautifully!!! Personal stuff-- I was most delighted to be Physicist-In-Charge during the meeting. I truly enjoyed bossing myself around. But I am happy to hand over the mantle of responsibility to the Doug-Meister. So congratulate me already! I'm getting married in July to the lovely Cheryl Cabanting of Goose Creek, SC. Quote of the Week: Sorry. No quote of the week. There was no one to talk to!!! Hasta La Vista, Baby Your devoted shiftworker, Gary Ludlam
